Chapter 1882 - 1886: A Corner Chipped from a Tooth
Rome Airport.
Leng Zimo stretched his legs and got out of the car, walking into the hotel lobby with Ah Jiu and Ah Sang. One of his men went to handle the check-in, while Leng Zimo headed toward the adjacent lounge area.
Sitting on the sofa, his gaze swept once more over the GPS tracker on his wrist. For several hours now, Luo Xiaoqian had been staying in the same spot.
Obviously, Luo Ke had already taken her back to his place.
Taking the map Ah Jiu handed over, Leng Zimo quickly matched it to the tracker and drew a circle on the map, then passed the map back to Ah Jiu. "Go find someone to figure out exactly what this place is right now!"
Indeed, at this moment Leng Zimo wanted nothing more than to see Luo Xiaoqian immediately, but reason told him that rushing in now would be useless. If he wanted to rescue Luo Xiaoqian, he had to do his homework thoroughly.
After all, this was Rome, not Beijing. This was Luo Ke’s home turf.
Where exactly Luo Xiaoqian was, what situation she was in, how to rescue her, how to get her out safely afterward... this entire chain of issues all needed careful preparation. The more critical the moment, the more he had to stay cold and clear-headed.
"Okay." Ah Jiu took the map.
"Ah Sang, go find someone to prepare the River." Leng Zimo spoke again.
"Okay." Ah Sang agreed as well.
Without hesitation, the two of them immediately stood up and left the hotel together.
"Sir." One of his men walked over. "The rooms are ready. Please go upstairs and rest for a while."
Leng Zimo nodded, stood up with a frown, and under the protection of several subordinates, walked toward the elevator, his mind racing through how the next steps should unfold.
Ding!
The elevator stopped on the nineteenth floor. Leng Zimo stepped out and followed behind the waiter into the room.
He went straight to the sofa and sat down, casually picking up the local map prepared on the coffee table for guests. After confirming the earlier position again, he took a pen and carefully studied the terrain of that area.
The location was on the outskirts, not far from a waterway. So... could he use the water route?
Just as Leng Zimo was studying the map, his phone suddenly rang in his pocket.
He immediately took out the phone and answered without even checking the caller ID.
"Hello?"
"It’s me!"
Just two simple words, but the tone and voice were familiar down to the bone.
"Zirui?!"
Leng Zimo had not expected at all that Leng Zirui would call him.
Leng Zirui walked into the bathroom, turned on the tap, and made it sound like he was taking a shower. "You’re in Rome?"
Leng Zimo didn’t answer immediately, but instead countered, "Is it really you?"
Although Leng Zirui hadn’t said anything when he left, Leng Zimo knew he was on a mission this time. By rights, he had no reason to suddenly call. And the fact that Leng Zirui opened with asking whether he’d already arrived in Rome naturally made Leng Zimo raise his guard.
On the other end, Leng Zirui spoke lazily, "On the right side of your lower jaw, the second tooth from the back is chipped at the corner."
Leng Zimo had chipped that tooth when the two brothers were test-driving a car and he accidentally knocked it.
That was a secret only the two brothers knew. No one else knew, aside from Luo Xiaoqian—not even Leng Lin.
Now certain the person on the line was indeed Leng Zirui, Leng Zimo immediately asked worriedly, "What’s going on?"
