Chapter 285: Maxim Sinclair Acquires Omni Group Shares
"I will resolve the issues as soon as possible," Justin Huxley personally pressed the elevator button, waved regretfully at Tina Huxley, "Sister, quickly send Auntie home. There’s no need for you to worry about matters at the company."
Tina Huxley ground her teeth in frustration, and once the elevator doors closed, she turned to Mrs. Huxley: "Mom, what happened just now? Didn’t we agree? Why did you suddenly change your tune and speak on his behalf?"
"What else could I do, tear faces in front of those board members?" Mrs. Huxley adjusted her shawl. "I would indeed like to take down Justin Huxley in one move, but reality doesn’t allow for it."
Finishing the thought, she looked at Tina, who still didn’t grasp the situation, and sighed in worry: "You’re still too inexperienced to fight against him. Let’s give him this bit of face; he won’t be able to handle these issues anyway."
"Since you also think he can’t handle these issues, why not seize this opportunity to bring him down? What if he finds a chance to turn the tables?"
"He won’t find one," Mrs. Huxley looked at Tina, who clearly wasn’t up for the task, and shook her head, "Don’t worry about the rest; I’ll handle it personally."
Elsewhere, Justin Huxley returned to his office with a smile and asked Cameron Young, who had been waiting inside: "How’s it going?"
"Rest assured, things have been handled well; neither Tina Huxley nor Julian Huxley noticed you touched the public funds."
Cameron said this as he casually tossed the final piece of evidence in his hand into the shredder, "Today, those two entered the meeting room together. President Huxley, do you think they’ve secretly agreed to cooperate?"
"They probably have. We need to find a way to dismantle their cooperation." Justin Huxley casually pinched his fingers, "Tina Huxley’s a fool; Julian Huxley has never had a good relationship with her over these years. Breaking up their cooperation should be quite easy."
Justin Huxley didn’t consider Tina and Julian Huxley as threats to him.
As long as he held the acting president position and dealt with those issues, none of this would be a problem.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as he wished.
While he was still brooding over how to cover up his misappropriation of funds, Cameron Young returned to his office with bad news: "Omni Group’s stock price hit a limit down!"
"What did you say? What exactly happened?"
"The rumors surrounding Omni Group have been negative for a while, and now, in the past few days, there’s been a whole mess. Due to this impact, the stock price started declining right at the opening today and hit a limit down five minutes ago." Cameron Young was extremely worried and couldn’t help but remind Justin Huxley, "People are panic-stricken in the company..."
"Have the managers of each department come to me. I’ll hold a meeting to stabilize the morale, preventing any internal disorder. It’s a crucial moment right now."
Cameron received the order and left, while Justin Huxley sat by the computer, staring at the market trends on the screen, vaguely sensing that something was off.
It wasn’t supposed to go this way.
...
Assistant Collins personally greeted them at the entrance, standing to the side with an umbrella. They greeted the man and woman who got out of the car, "Miss Collins, Mr. Jacobs, our chairman is waiting for you inside. Please follow me."
The man and woman referred to as Miss Collins and Mr. Jacobs were shareholders of Omni Group.
In the early years, when Old Master Huxley was starting the company, he once faced a cash flow problem, and it was these two who generously supported him, resolving his urgent need.
Old Master Huxley, having no way to repay them, granted them a total of fifteen percent of the original shares.
Today, Maxim Sinclair invited these two individuals over, aiming for the shares in their possession.
After a few glasses of wine, Maxim Sinclair put down his chopsticks and spoke to the man and woman seated across him about his true purpose: "Please take a look at this document. If you have no objections, let’s proceed and sign the transfer agreement here."
The middle-aged woman with long hair, referred to as Miss Collins, hesitantly pinched the contract: "After all, we recognized the potential in these shares early on; selling them now feels a bit regrettable."
Maxim Sinclair dismissed her emotional words, casually shifting the topic, "The price I’m offering, you both should know if it’s worth it. None of us are idle here; let’s not start haggling. Be straightforward, sign or not."
Miss Collins and Mr. Jacobs exchanged glances, fell into silence, and stared at the document before them, not uttering a word for a long time.
With little patience, Maxim Sinclair slowly drank half a glass of wine and spoke again: "I’ll remind you both, if you don’t sign today, the price I offer next time won’t be as favorable."
Hearing this, Mr. Jacobs first took the document and prepared to sign it.
Just as his nose was about to touch the paper, he suddenly withdrew his hand and looked up at Maxim Sinclair: "May I ask, is President Sinclair behind the limit down of Omni Group’s stock price today?"
Maxim Sinclair didn’t answer directly but pointed at the document in front of him: "Why not turn a blind eye and just reap the profits?"
Mr. Jacobs thought it over and agreed, quickly signing his name on the document: "Frankly, I never imagined I’d sell my shares at such a high price."
"That’s why I said if you sign this contract, you won’t lose out," Maxim Sinclair took the signed document, handed it to Assistant Collins, then turned to Miss Collins, "Hesitating? Having second thoughts?"
"No, just a remark. It’s admirable, being so young and able to run Sinclair Group. Your methods are indeed impressive. Even seven or eight Justin Huxleys couldn’t compare."
Maxim Sinclair laughed at this: "You flatter me, Miss Collins. I’m not as impressive as you say. I mainly rely on the Huxley family’s internal discord. If they were united, I might not stand a chance."
Amidst the banter, Miss Collins also signed her contract.
With his goal achieved, Maxim Sinclair left a senior executive from the company to entertain the two shareholders for dinner, while he returned the way he came, heading to the place he had been staying recently.
"How has the villa been these days?" Maxim Sinclair casually watched the scenery outside the window, "Did Justin Huxley call Summer Lowell to inquire about me?"
"He did call, but Madame didn’t answer. Dr. Sullivan also visited the house yesterday, chatted with her in the garden for a long time, and left after dinner with some pickles made by the kitchen’s aunt, bringing nothing else."
"Pickles? Dr. Sullivan has a fondness for that?" Maxim Sinclair asked with a faint smile.
Assistant Collins chuckled, "President Sinclair, you forgot, President Jennings loves them."
