Chapter 495: Techniques & Elemental World
Chapter 495: Techniques & Elemental World
Liora went through the long list of techniques.
Accompanying them was not only their price set in Contribution Points, but also the name of their creator and a brief description of each one.
These techniques were not standalone.
They didn’t just teach Awakeners how to absorb Cosmic Energy. Instead, they combined hundreds of different techniques, spells, abilities, and even concepts.
"Choosing a suitable starting technique is the most crucial thing for new students. This is why the War Academy provides newly enrolled students with starting Contribution Points."
"It’s so they can purchase a technique and thus sort out their future path."
This was information Liora had learned, not only during her trip to the War Academy so far, but also from her aunt Anna.
Thus, she wasn’t surprised to see such a large number of techniques.
Her eyes narrowed briefly.
Her gaze focused on the very first technique in the endless list, and a small segment instantly unfolded.
...
"Thunder God’s [Nine Stage Thunder Blade]—Created by the Rank 10 Thunder God. This technique is divided into nine levels, each doubling the power of the previous one. It is particularly suitable for Awakeners with lightning and speed-related talents."
"Price: 100 million Contribution Points per level."
...
The price alone was outrageous. But from the description, as well as the identity of the Thunder God, Liora knew it was absolutely worth it.
"The Thunder God is one of the few Rank 10 Awakeners within the Human Federation. Combined with the Destruction God, the Original Ancestor, and a few other people, they appear to be the ones in charge of the human race."
This clearly did not take the Ancient Devil-beings into account since such powerhouses mostly remained hidden.
Still, though this technique was not created by a true apex creature, it was enough to make most Awakeners excited. Especially new students who had just awakened.
"The dissemination of techniques in this world is far better than the Demon World, let alone the other worlds I’ve been through."
"In which other world would a Young Devil have the chance to obtain a peak Archdevil technique?"
Liora shook her head. Although she knew this was locked behind an extremely high price that was nearly impossible to afford, it still made her envious.
Soon, her gaze concentrated on the next technique. A similar description emerged.
...
"Destruction God’s [Catastrophe Spear]—Created by the Rank 10 Destruction God. This technique is divided into twelve levels. It is particularly suitable for Awakeners with destruction and spear-related talents."
"Price: 100 million Contribution Points per level."
...
The same occurred when Liora focused on the technique right below it.
Very quickly, she read through the descriptions of thousands of different techniques.
But just as it seemed that this would go on forever, she suddenly stopped.
She knew she could not wander in the "shop" endlessly.
The War Academy’s System included pretty much all the techniques that the Human Federation possessed, numbering in millions, if not even more.
If she had to go through them all, then, let alone her, even Alpha, who had transformed into an AI, would develop a headache.
"In fact, the selection of the technique is not as important to me. No matter what technique I purchase, I can bypass the requirements with my Predation talent. After all, I can always plunder the talent of someone else, meeting the requirements."
For example, Liora could hunt down a lightning demon, devour it using Predation, and then practice the Nine Stage Thunder Blade.
She would face absolutely no restrictions and would instead be able to bring out the technique’s full potential.
"Unfortunately, there is no technique that can enhance my Predation talent. It makes sense, but it’s disappointing."
"It seems that I’ll have to create one on my own.", Liora let out a sigh.
Focusing on the search bar at the top of the catalogue, her mind moved, and words began to appear.
Soon, most items in the "Techniques" category faded away. Only a single entry remained, matching the requirements Liora had set.
...
"Elemental Ancestor’s [Elemental World]—Created by the Rank 10 Elemental Ancestor. It is divided into ten levels. It is particularly suitable for Awakeners with elemental talents. Even more so for those who possess talents integrating several elements."
"Price: 10000 Contribution Points for the first level."
"10000 Contribution Points for the second level."
"..."
...
Not all techniques had the exact same price from start to finish.
Some required a smaller price to pay for the first few levels, increasing exponentially as the level increased and the information became more valuable.
Still, these techniques were as arduous to obtain in their entirety, if not even more.
"My aunt specifically reminded me to choose this technique if I wish to unleash my talent to its fullest extent. She claimed it is particularly suitable for my Elemental Affinity.", Liora thought.
Glancing at the 10000 Contribution Points price, which nearly matched those on her account, and knowing that Anna would not hurt her niece, she quickly made a decision.
Instantly, 10000 Contribution Points were taken off her balance. In exchange, a stream of information burst into her mind.
It was the very first level of the [Elemental World] technique.
Although it was an Archdevil-level technique, she had only purchased its first level after all.
Though Liora had not regained her full strength yet, she was quickly able to absorb and digest the information.
A few moments later, she opened her eyes. Not in the Information World, but in reality.
Immediately, she let out a sigh.
"As expected of a technique developed by a Rank 10 Awakener."
"Though the first level only corresponds to the first rank, its value is immeasurable."
The price to obtain it was extremely high. However, any Awakener would be willing to pay it if they had the chance.
Just the first level of this technique was enough to help students transform into minor prodigies. Both their potential and combat prowess would be enhanced.
For Liora, however, its importance was even more significant.
"No wonder I felt there was something amiss with me in the past."
