Galaxy Fall: All My Skills Are Maxed

Chapter 350: Flawless Victory

Chapter 350: Flawless Victory

The entire ground where she had been sitting completely collapsed under the residual gravity of Jessica’s approach, forming a deep, smoking pit below. She turned her head to locate her opponent, only to see Jessica already right in front of her midair, her blade already descending.

"I won’t lose that easily!" Eve yelled, her pride as a Captain flaring up. She raised her massive instrument, thrusting the reinforced frame straight towards Jessica’s descending blade.

BAM!!

The two weapons collided violently midair, sending a shockwave through the atmosphere that forcefully sent Eve flying back down to the ground. She landed lightly on her feet, skidding backward, and immediately turned her eyes to inspect her guzheng.

’Her sword actually left a physical scratch on my legendary class weapon? This girl...’ She thought, a chill running down her spine as she looked up at Jessica hovering effortlessly in the sky.

"I will no longer hold back." Jessica said flatly. She slowly sheathed her jagged sword back into its scabbard, standing perfectly stationary midair, her normal eyes closed. Only her golden mythic eye remained wide open, completely fixed on Eve with an unfeeling, god-like gaze.

’This?! Why do I have such a terrifyingly bad feeling?!’ Eve’s instincts screamed at her. She quickly played her instrument with maximum speed, channeling every ounce of her remaining energy as her absolute strongest, multi-layered defensive barrier appeared around her. She knew that against an opponent of this tier, attacking was suicide; defense was the only thing possible.

Jessica’s grip tightened on her hilt. She drew her sword with insane, mathematically impossible speed, and completely vanished from the perception of the tracking wards, appearing instantly behind Eve’s back before anyone could even register the movement, then sheathed back her sword with a cold click.

"This?"

Eve watched in absolute, paralyzed shock, as her strongest, unbroken barrier suddenly formed deep cracks, then violently shattered into countless glittering pieces. She vomited a massive mouthful of crimson blood, her internal spirit energy channels completely cut off, falling heavily to the hard stone ground.

"Captain!!"

Blade and the rest of the Eagle Academy group yelled in utter shock.

’What just happened?! I couldn’t even see how she moved with the stadium’s high-speed tracking arrays?’ Davy thought in deep confusion and professional dread, watching silently as Jessica calmly turned her back and walked away from the fallen contestant.

"Ahem! I guess I am not the only one shocked here. Jessica won this round." He said into the amplification array, staring at the massive audience, who were still completely stunned into a dead silence by Jessica’s supernatural speed, and pure ruthlessness.

Davy watched silently as the Eagle Academy’s team quickly rushed onto the stage, helped their bleeding Captain up, and led her off the stage for emergency stabilization, and just like that, the formidable Captain of the Eagle Academy was eliminated from the bracket.

"Okay." He snapped his fingers, and the structural restoration runes flared; the deep pit instantly closed up, and the shattered stage completely reconstructed itself back to its normal state.

"Okay everyone! Let’s see the next competition!" He yelled, desperately trying to bring the crowd’s energy back up as he turned his head to the massive holographic screen, where the digital names rapidly shuffled before two names locked in.

"Let welcome, Zach from the Sword Academy, and Buck from the Eagle academy!" He yelled.

The two young men stepped forward from their respective decks, getting onto the restored arena floor:

Zach held his sheathed sword loosely, his posture loose and confident as he stared at the Assassin standing opposite him.

"I won’t take it easy on you." He said with a haughty smirk, tapping his sword hilt.

"It seems the Sword Academy only knows how to boast, all while hiding behind your Captain." Buck said coldly, completely unbothered by the bravado as he smoothly drew out the dark, light-absorbent dagger strapped to his waist.

"What am I saying? Your Captain is also completely useless, only knowing how to rely on cheap sneak attacks." He added arrogantly, his provocative words echoing through the stadium, causing Jessica, to slowly raise a single, dangerous eyebrow.

"Okay, you can begin." Davy said, wanting to get the match over with as he stared at the two arguing young men.

"You do know you talk a lot, right?" Zach asked with a slight, irritated frown, his spirit energy flaring as he shot forward with explosive velocity, his hand tightly grabbing his sword hilt.

"How dare you disrespect my beautiful captain?!!" He yelled, his face distorted with rage as he arrived instantly in front of Buck. He raised his glowing sword high into the air, and dropped it down on him with a vertical cleave meant to shatter his defense.

"Useless." Buck muttered flatly. His body blurred; he instantly moved, completely bypassing the trajectory of the descending sword, his dagger flashing brilliantly under the bright sun rays for a single millisecond.

BOOOOM!!

The physical impact of Zach’s sword shattered the stone floor where Buck had been standing, but Zach himself and the whole Arena completely froze in place.

"As I said, you are all just hiding behind your Captain." Buck said nonchalantly, turning his back as he calmly sheathed his dagger back into his waist belt.

".....?!"

Zach’s eyes widened in realization. He slowly raised his trembling hand, and touched a perfectly clean, microscopic cut right on the side of his neck; it was precisely calculated, deep enough to draw blood but not deep enough to endanger his life or sever his arteries. He stood completely frozen on the spot, cold sweat pouring down his back as he realized that if there wasn’t a strict No-kill rule established for the competition, his head would currently be rolling on the floor.

Just like that, without a single extended exchange, the entire battle was completely over.

"Impressive, Buck from the eagle academy, won!" Davy’s amplified voice sounded across the coliseum, cementing the sudden outcome and sending a wave of murmurs through the audience.
