Chapter 1091 1091: Endgame (2)

"Wait. That didn't come from me." Max uttered in confusion as he looked around only to see Kael walking into the battlefield with a composed expression.

He looked relaxed but inwardly, he was anything but relaxed.

He was boiling in rage as he had to watch Sol die in the most gruesome way.

She and Viktor had been with him for the longest.

Today, he lost his father, lost his Captain and one of his best friends?

The rage he felt was like no other as Charlotte dashed away.

Kael stood in front of them all watching as the lightning pillar was still glowing with a sinister pressure.

Step. Step. Another Step.

The Zodiac walked out of the depths of the blazing and crackling lightning albeit with a little bit of struggle.

His teeth was grinding back and forth with every step he took. Lightning crackled around his body biting into his fur and flesh aiming to take him down but he resisted and soon, he was out of the whole pillar that was slowly dying down.

Looking behind him for a moment, Kael made eye contact with Scarlet and gave her a small nod before turning back to face Jim.

"Like Charlotte said; we are in the endgame. So I don't need the rest of you on this battlefield. Things are about to get serious so kindly take a step back and support whenever you see an opening to without hindering me."

Everybody exchanged brief glances in confusion.

"Have you seen the enemy? The hell you mean we sh—"

" Listen to Kael. Trust me." Scarlet uttered as she dispelled her fiery dragon and then leaped a few metres away.

Seeing as she was stepping back, everybody else too were doing the same— clearing the field for Kael except Viktor who remained in his spot, glaring at the demon.

Jim cackled on seeing that only Kael was to face him.

"Wow. I'm scared." The Zodiac trembled mockingly.

Lifting his hand into the air, a bright radiance crackled around the young man's hands as he glared into the eyes of the demon.

Leaning forward, the ground cracked under the sudden shift of Jim's weight as he smirked at the mage.

Then,

BANG! BANG!

A reverberating sound shook the whole air as the demon pounced forward with lightning speed.

Kael didn't move as he instead hurled the sphere of lightning towards the approaching demon.

The sparks from the sphere tore through the ground as it raced towards the demon with blazing speed.

With uncanny agility, the demon darted to the side letting the sphere rush past him with deadly speed.

Turning back around, Kael had appeared in front of the demon with a blazingly hot lightning bolt hurtling towards the demon's eye.

Quickly canting his head to the side, the bolt tore past with blazing speed as the edges carved a thin line on the Zodiac's cheek.

With his hand cocked backward, the demon shot his claw towards Kael's midsection with lightning speed.

However, shadows rippled beneath the mage's legs and he was yanked into it with brutal force allowing Z1's fist to crash into the air with a bone rattling bang.

Rising out of the demon's own shadows, behind him, Kael lifted his hand and swung it back down allowing for a colossal lightning arrow to scream towards him with deadly speed.

'Two minutes…'

The demon snapped around before vaulting backward allowing the arrow burn through the soil and create a massive hollow as dust billowed into the air.

A rush of wind.

Twirling around, Thalos could be seen with his fist rocketing towards the demon's face.

Quickly crossing his hands in front of him, the gargoyle's fist crashed into his forearms causing a loud crack to be heard as the ground exploded outwardly.

The demon pushed the gargoyle aside and was ready to launch a counter when Thalos held out his hand and a sharp pain ran through Jim's body.

'Huh?'

Looking down, he could see the gargoyle's greatsword still lodged into one of his legs. He had totally forgotten about it since he pinned it in place.

And he didn't feel any pain in that area so it slipped his mind.

Yanking his hand backward, the greatsword sliced through the demon's leg and flew back into the gargoyle's waiting grasp.

Jim lost his footing and was seen crashing downward when the earth moved and surged upward with a colossal pillar whacking into his face with crushing force.

The demon's head was thrown backward followed by his entire body only to see a giant boulder hovering above him.

This wasn't Dante's doing.

Viktor had broken the earth and pressured it into a giant boulder. Increasing its weight immediately, it hurtled downward and bashed the demon into the earth with an explosive ring.

A massive blanket of dust blasted out in all directions.

The sound of something ripping through flesh could be heard followed by a massive boulder being flung away as the demon rose to his full height.

Blood trickling down his mouth as he had fully regenerated his leg.

"NOW!" Kael's voice cut through the dust.

Immediately, slicing through the dust were four thousand blood red crimson arrows speeding towards the demon with blazing speed.

Immediately, Jim vaulted backward trying to regain footing as his claws shot through the air clashing with the arrows in a blur of speed and movement of his arm.

Swatting one to the side, his second claw was about to hit another when his hand passed through the arrow.

'Huh? An illusion?'

Refusing to let that down him for a moment, he continued clashing with the arrows while occasionally falling for the illusions of some arrows that looked real to be fake.

He was confused when rising from the shadows all around him, the other zodiacs could be seen.

'Huh?'

Orion dashed towards the demon only for Jim to spin around with his leg crashing into the zodiac only for his leg to pass through the man's body as he flickered and vanished from view.

'An illusion of my dead allies?'

But they were too real to be fake and instincts would kick in when danger was charging his way hence he leaped back to avoid Lucien swinging at him.

Again, his whole foot passed through his body before the illusion vanished.

Ducking under a swing of Z6's claws, his fist passed through his body.

He leaped away to avoid a swing from Z7 when he dispelled the illusion again.

A hundred lightning arrows were now screaming towards him from Kael and at the same time, an illusion of Zodiac 10— Vince was charging towards him with a metal sword.

'Tch! Screw this.'

Turning his head around, he began clashing with the arrows, sending them flying away while turning his back to the illusion of Vince.

Since they were illusions, they couldn't hurt him. They were just meant to distract.

Hence he focused on the lightning arrows shooting towards him like comets when Vince reached the demon and thrust the metal sword towards Jim's back.

All hair on the demon's body stood up as he could feel something crazy wrong so he spun around only to be stabbed straight through the abdomen with the metal sword.

Before he could recover, a silver sword gleaming with a deadly aura flashed into Vince's hand and then jabbed into the demon's chest, specifically where his heart would be.

Blood filled Jim's mouth as shock overtook him.

"Yo-Yo-You are real…?"

Vince's lips cracked open in a thin smile as another similar silver sword appeared in his hand which he proceeded to smash into the demon's head with all his might allowing the sword to pass through instantly causing the demon to cough out a mouthful of blood as he swayed backward for a moment.

"As real as it can get, Jim." Vince uttered with a wide smirk on his face.
