"Ethan and Carter have gone outside."
Serena Sullivan glanced at Finn Chandler, whose mood had instantly dropped due to Julian Ford, and replied with a smile.
"Oh!" Julian Ford responded, "Take care of yourself, I have something to attend to and need to leave first."
With Ethan and Carter not around, Julian felt it inappropriate to stay longer.
He turned around and met the eyes of Finn behind him.
The complex emotions within those eyes left Julian Ford momentarily stunned, also sparking a sense of familiarity.
Well, perhaps since they were all Chambers Family members, they looked similar.
"Young Master Chambers."
Julian Ford called out, recalling the "Star-making Project" and considering how Miss Chambers was dissatisfied with his disfavor towards Finn. He told Finn, "Are you free? I want to..."
Before he finished speaking, Finn interrupted, "I’m free!"
Her lips curled into a smile.
Julian Ford felt a surge of happiness at her agreement, almost forgetting who she was at that moment.
Looking at Finn so cheerful, Julian Ford paused. He originally wanted to propose arranging a time to discuss cooperation with The Chambers Corporation, but Finn’s response was overly enthusiastic!
"Serena, I’m heading out first."
Finn went over to speak to Serena Sullivan.
"Alright!"
Serena nodded, "Be careful on the road."
She turned to Julian, advising, "Mr. Ford, kindly look after Finn."
This statement sounded even stranger to Julian Ford’s ears.
He was inviting Finn for a business discussion, not a private rendezvous!
Besides, Finn was Young Master Chambers, hardly in need of his assistance.
Confused as he might be, Julian Ford, being a highly educated gentleman, nodded to Serena before leaving.
Finn followed him out, waving goodbye with a smile to Serena and Anna Morgan before departing.
"Just left like that?"
Anna Morgan stood amazed; the Finn she saw before Julian was entirely different!
"As soon as Julian Ford showed up, she tagged along!"
"A friend who forsakes friendships for romance!"
Anna Morgan simmered with frustration; Finn had just shed tears due to Mrs. Chambers’ manipulation, but once Julian arrived, she not only brightened up but enthusiastically tagged along.
Serena chuckled, "If there ever comes a day when you prioritize romance over friendship, I wouldn’t mind."
Coming to her senses?
Anna Morgan was so afraid of Carter Lockwood, and Carter was not one to express his feelings openly. At this pace, who knew when the two of them could come to fruition!
Their pace, compared to Finn and Julian’s, felt annoyingly slow!
"Julian Ford is her salvation."
Serena’s smile faded as she commented.
Presently, Finn faced Mr. Chambers and her siblings on one side, and Mrs. Chambers with Miss Chambers on the other. She was willing to march towards Julian Ford with love, even if it meant giving up the achievements she had fought for in The Chambers Corporation for years.
However, if Finn’s identity were to be exposed, would Julian Ford see it as a betrayal, deceiving his feelings, and fly into a rage?
"Serena, you mentioned earlier that Finn still has something held over by her mother and sister. What is that?"
Anna Morgan recalled the topic they hadn’t finished discussing and asked.
Her mind wasn’t turning corners, and she couldn’t piece it together.
"Get Finn blackout drunk and send a girl onto her bed; Finn isn’t a man, why should she be held responsible?"
"To have leverage over a woman naturally means taking advantage of Finn after she’s passed out, capturing something!"
"Did they find a man for Finn..."
"That didn’t happen."
Serena shook her head; if that were the case, Finn would have fallen out with Mrs. Chambers and Miss Chambers today, and the ones most terrified of Finn’s identity being revealed were precisely these two.
