Chapter 218: It’s In Your Head!
Chapter 218: It’s In Your Head!
In the darkness of a void that stretched infinitely, Torq found himself staring at the figure of the Celestial Rotock standing a fair distance away, shaping its Quills to form two hands, poised on either side.
Held by the left hand was the Celestial Boar and held by the right hand was the Royal Zinger. And then, the Celestial Rotock announced.
[Choose, Brat! Who do you want dead first?]
"Unhand them, you fucker!" Torq roared and charged at the Celestial Rotocok, futilely realising the distance between them wasn’t in the slightest bit decreasing. "Dammit!"
[You can never stop my assault until you gain the qualifications to interfere with my actions.]
The Celestial Rotocok announced calmly and used one of its three beaks to point at the arms of the Royal Zinger. Its second beak pointed towards the stomach of the Celestial Boar.
The third beak bent forward until it was positioned right before Torq, but just outside his reach. And then, it expressed in a way that showed it was having fun tormenting him.
[One prides its arms as the strongest of Sumatra and the other prides its stomach to be able to devour anything. Tell me, Brat!]
[Which shall I destroy first?]
"GRAH!" A painful roar came from the Celestial Boar as a hole formed in its stomach, causing it to flail while within the grasp of the hand formed by the Quills.
THWACK!
The Royal Zinger’s arms got bent out of shape and then tied together like shoe laces. Torq hadn’t responded for barely a second, and by then, the Celestial Rotocok had already taken action.
"Stop it, you fucking bastard!"
[You responded late! So, I’ve destroyed both!]
He beak hovering right above Torq commented while being accompanied by the screams of both the Royal Zinger and Celestial Boar.
[You think you can amount to something? No matter what you do, you’re merely delaying the inevitable. I will consume Sumatra.]
Torq wanted to scream, to use his nails to tear apart the flesh on the Celestial Rotocok’s face, to crunch apart the bones of the detestable enemy. But want was all he could sport. After all, the Celestial Rotock’s beak had already stabbed into his head, making his head hang forth like a broken doll.
Blood dripped down his jaw, making him feel utterly powerless as he watched the two figures before him in a state even more pitiful than his own.
The Royal Zinger’s arms were the strongest on Sumatra, capable of casually hurling heavy projectiles to distances surpassing 300 kilometres without much effort. With effort, it could throw even farther.
The issue most of the time is the thrown projectile vaporising out of friction, and not a limit imposed by the throwing force. Hence, the Celestial Rotock shattered the Royal Zinger’s arms, and stopped there.
Secondly, the Celestial Boar was capable of consuming everything, known as Sumatra’s ultimate predator. And hence, the Celestial Rotocok destroyed its stomach.
On purpose, the Celestial Rotock only destroyed the strengths of these two pinnacle existences, as if to prove a point that even the greatest strengths of Sumatra is nothing before it.
[If you desire to kill me, set foot in my throne first.]
It slightly wriggled its beak while it was still stabbed into Torq’s head, using this wriggle to transfer a sound into the bleeding brain matter of Torq.
[Come and kill me, if you have the guts to. Otherwise, whether it be five times, ten times, or even more, I’ll make you witness Sumatra’s destruction.]
And then, it slightly opened its beak, splattering Torq’s head in response.
...
Gah!
Torq sprang to his feet and hurriedly churned Prana into his arm to unleash a Physical Cleave. His attack destroyed the wall before him as the blade travelled forth, cleanly making a sharp gash across the various wards until it was expended.
Oof!
A Wean Clansman lay next to the gash, having lost his arm. He had a twisted expression on his face, as if the attack had struck fear in his expression. After all, in his vision, all he saw was a vortex of aurora that was blinding to the senses.
And strangely, there seemed to be traces of a peacock’s feathers forming a resplendent train behind him, as if serving as his pillar.
"Ah..."
As he stared, the aurora sported three peacock heads, all of which stared his way and approached him, glaring down upon him in close up, with absolute ridicule, as if everything he does will amount to nothing.
"AHH! Help!" The treatment facilitator screeched in horror as his Spirit Container suffered a major crack.
Swing!
Suddenly, the forming figure of a peacock within the aurora was cut in half from within, causing it to dissipate, revealing a gasping figure of Torq within, absolutely incensed.
"I’ll BUTCHER you!" Veins popped across Torq’s face as his eyes oozed razor-sharp bloodlust at levels surpassing that of his peers who were in the Life Stage.
Faint lines appeared on the underside of his arm, sharp like blades. It was a mild change to his musculature, creating a muscular composition similar to the calves, in which it served as a secondary heart to pump blood.
Blood could now be pumped faster through his arms, and compressed at the tips, which were the faint lines. It allowed for faster accumulation of Prana, with the ability to retain a greater concentration at any given moment.
It was enough to unleash a Physical Cleave worth 12 units of Prana spontaneously, which had enough potency to slightly injure even a Gold Grade Pranic Beast.
And due to the quickness with which it gets unleashed, it could be targeted upon a sensitive body part, dealing greater damage.
"Take a seat!" Another treatment facilitator shouted in alarm, as a few more arrived to assist their comrade who had fallen unconscious. Thankfully, Torq’s attack didn’t kill anyone, but around five people had fallen unconscious due to the deathly sharp presence that he had unleashed.
"I..." Torq had no idea what had happened to him or where he even was. Instinctively, he rested his hand on the bed and noticed the mattress getting torn up in response. The sheer presence he was releasing was enough to tear up the sheets.
He wanted to calm himself upon noticing the pellet strung to his neck had grown red hot, even beginning to melt. But the instant he had the thought, his eyes grew wide. And slowly, he turned his head, gasping in horror upon seeing a peacock seated beside him on the bed, using its beak to peck at its feathers.
The instant he noticed the feathers, Torq reacted impulsively...
