Chapter 266: The Time Has Arrived!

Sam was separated from Sanders but it wasn’t of his volition, Sam didn’t know how he got to where he was but it was a nest.

Sam, however, wasn’t frightened and remained calm in this situation because there was nothing that could kill him.

He truly believed that because he had conquered everything the world threw at him.

But where was he? He didn’t recognize this place.

It looked like a nest but there were people wrapped up in webs.

Sam was momentarily confused but he realized that there were multiple unconscious bodies littered around.

But unlike him, they were paralyzed however, there was no way that these things could be spiders.

They would have to be bigger than humans to be able to hunt them effectively and the virus couldn’t do that.

"This is strange..." Sam thought but a thought came into his mind that made him giggle and that was Spiderman.

Spiderman wasn’t real but it would be hilarious if he suddenly appeared even though Sam knew he would kill the supposed superhero.

But he had questions, why was he the only one able to move?

He had to study the area and discern exactly where he was because there wasn’t much he could do regarding this.

Sam knew that things were getting dangerous and the virus didn’t affect just humans but animals as well; however, did that extend to insects?

Sam walked over to one of the paralyzed individuals, he wished to inspect what was going on with him.

Sam could tell from the look in his eyes that he was begging to be saved but Sam was never a man moved by sympathy, this man was here simply because he was weak.

That was it, nothing more and nothing less, the weak deserved everything that came to them because this was the way of the world.

Sam looked around for something, he was searching for something and finally found it.

Picking up a sharp stone, he returned to the person and ripped open his shirt.

"It is just as I suspected..." Sam thought to himself when he saw a huge hole in this person’s torso, he should be dead yet he was breathing.

The spiders had laid eggs in them for their babies to feed on while their hosts were still alive.

This could explain how they evolved, they had consumed human DNA.

Sam left the man who begged for death as he had no interest in wasting his strength on something so irrelevant because he was going to die either way.

Sam checked if he had any weapon on him but unfortunately, he was all out.

He needed to lay low for now, he couldn’t attract attention and he wasn’t even sure if the spiders had already laid eggs in him.

That would be a pathetic way to die and for the first time in a long time, Sam thought about Clementine. He wondered where she was and how she was doing.

He never questioned if she was alive because there was nothing that could take her away from him.

He heard movements but soon after, he could hear voices and Sam returned to his position, closing his eyes to feign that he was still unconscious.

These could be the people responsible for this and he realized that this might be yet another abomination.

They probably assumed he was too weak to do anything with the injuries he had on him and this would have been the case for an average person but Sam was anything but average.

However, this told him that it was the people responsible for this.

There were all sorts of crazies around here and Sam was tired of running into them.

The men approached him and before they realized what had happened, Sam slit their throats with the rock he had hidden in his hand.

Killing them in the process, he had seen where they came from so this gave him an idea of where to go but Sam knew that whatever he stumbled upon, he had to investigate thoroughly.

Jason was done, he didn’t understand why the sex was different but maybe it was because he was having sex with a superior.

There was this powerplay in dominating someone higher ranked than himself but the moment they were done, Mariam was already prepared to kick him out.

She didn’t plan to allow him to stay the night, she was glad that Carl decided to join the patrol team for the night but it was within the walls so there was nothing to fear.

Chronos informed Jason and he sprung to his feet in a heartbeat, he looked around for this threat before checking his radar.

"Scan!" Jason commanded and Chronos did just that, the moment the radar showed him what it had discovered, Jason realized what they feared had come.

They were surrounded and this was in the literal sense, Jason was light on his feet and ran towards the door, he had to alert everyone to be on guard,

"Jason! What is going on?" Mariam questioned but Jason’s heart dropped the moment he got to the door and saw a familiar face who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Rachel had gone out to clear her head and coincidentally, she was walking in this precise location the instant Jason came out.

You didn’t need to be a rocket scientist to realize what had happened, Jason was half-naked.

For the first time, Jason made her cry as her eyes welled up with tears but before Jason could even reach out to her, she left the area.

There was no time for this, Jason could always fix his relationship later, but right now he had bigger things to worry about.

The evolved zombies were here and the community was in grave danger.

No, it was more relative to stating that the community was on the verge of complete and utter destruction.

This was the day the community would fall.
