Chapter 212: Heavy…Heavy!
Chapter 212: Heavy…Heavy!
As PemGabura walked towards the five Garrinch, his physique exploded in terms of size to become a 130-metre-tall humanoid giant, with extremely thick legs, resembling an elephant’s legs.
The legs were almost as thick as the torso, robustly heavy. Weighing the torso down was a fat stomach, which wobbled around like it had a mind of its own. Growing on the back, extending out of the vertebrae were spikes shaped like axe heads, extremely sharp and serving to protect a vulnerable location of the body.
The head was of a boar, only fatter, with its tusks curving horizontally to make its head seem even larger than usual. There were hooves in the place of its elbow and knees, serving as a cap to the joints, and also allowing the creature to run on all fours, if necessary.
The joints had the means to dislocate and relocate themselves to move either as a bipedal or a quadripedal creature. The limb heights were proportional to facilitate both modes.
The arms resembled a humanoid at first glance, but had hooves attached to the end of the fingers, which when curled into a fist, formed a perfect hoof to use to sprint upon the wilds.
The spine could extend and contract when necessary to switch between the modes. To sprint for distances, the quadripedal mode was more preferred, same when it came to ramming into an opponent.
But to steadily fight against a group, the bipedal mode was more preferred, which PemGabura assumed at the moment.
Boom!
Powerful gales blasted around as a result of the transformation, which the Garrinch ignored to rush in and strike the legs of the Heavy Boar, which was all they could reach from the ground.
A thunderous sound resounded, as if two heavy blocks of steel had bumped into each other. Garrinch Three was the one that had unleashed the attack, gawking slightly in shock to notice a hairline crack had appeared in its forelimb.
In contrast, only a small bump appeared in the Heavy Boar’s legs. It panicked and leapt back upon seeing a powerful fist land on the ground before it, tremoring the ground.
While Garrinch Three leapt a couple times to evade the attack, Garrinch One and Two targeted the ankle from the rear, successfully managing to draw out blood using their tails. However, the damage was negligible.
The Heavy Boar stomped in their direction, causing them to scurry away.
Racing up a nearby pillar hanging from the ceiling, Garrinch Four picked up three spikes with its tail and threw them at the Heavy Boar, causing better damage as a the sound of flesh being singed resounded in the biome.
HMPH!
The snort resounded like a ship’s horn as the Heavy Boar dug its palms into the ground, scooped a handful of earth, and threw it at Garrinch Four, forcing the latter back for a second.
In that time, the Heavy Boar leapt once and grabbed hold of hanging pillar, relying on its weight to detach and bring the pillar down.
SCREEE!
Garrinch Four kicked at the falling pillar, pushed itself towards the Heavy Boar’s stomach, and kicked again to launch itself sideways, rolling upon landing on the ground. It skid along the way and stopped after crashing into Garrinch Five that had arrived to stop it.
KA-BOOM!
The rock pillar crashed into the ground, devastating the area. The sheer mass associated with the landing caused the Heavy Boar to be a tad slow to react, for it was honestly carrying too much weight.
The Garrinch relied on their superior speeds to scour across the place and gather every intact spike shot by VaraBuntara. And then, wielding them like knives, the Garrinch jumped the Heavy Boar, riddling the latter with a series of wounds.
"Tch!" FyorBuntara clicked his tongue soon after, ’He has burned through a thousand units of Prana by now. In contrast, the five Garrinch combined have used a mere 130 units.’
"It’s over," He interfered and pushed the five Garrinch away. Upon seeing PemGabura trying to get up, he glared, "Didn’t you hear what I said?"
"It’s over!" A release of his presence, and PemGabura actually found his blood clotting up in response, preventing a prompt supply of Prana necessary to maintain his Heavy Boar Transformation.
A second later, PemGabura found himself having reverted to his human form, staring in confusion as Fyorbuntara grabbed him and threw him back to the rest of the Potential Squad member.
"I would have won!" PemGabura shouted once he arrived at a realization.
"You burnt through a third of your Prana reserves and haven’t managed to land a single punch upon the enemies." Fyorbuntara chided, "Even though your physique is significantly superior, the Garrinch are specialised in mobility. They will never be hit by your attacks unless you try to outwit them."
"You’ve never used any Skills. And that pillar grab you did..." He clicked his tongue, "Had you paired it with a Skill or two to trap Garrinch Four to your body, you would have succeeded in killing it."
"Sit and reflect on your mistakes," He commanded, "Them five combined only used 130 units of Prana against you. Understand why you lost."
"Yes," PemGabura had significant pride in his abilities, but though unwilling, he had to listen to the Squad Leader’s commands, ’Just you wait! The next time, I’ll show you my real strength.’
The Four Branches of the Wean Clan had a general disposition of looking down upon the Main Branch, the Empyrean Boars specifically.
After all, Empyrean Boars were Beginner Gold Grade Pranic Beasts, the weakest of all the branches. However, they had taken position as the main branch.
Many among the branches were discontent. However, there was nothing they could do about it. After all, only the Empyrean Boar Branch had a solid path to the Mystic Grade.
A talented Empyrean Boar could mutate into the Boar King, an Expert Gold Grade Pranic Beast. Moreover, a Boar King could, as long as it uses Mystic Sumatra Art, eventually reach the level of becoming the Empyrean Boar King, a Mystic Grade existence upon whom, the previous Era of Sumatra was named after.
That was why the Empyrean Boar Branch was treated as the Main Branch. But despite it, like many from the other branches, PemGabura felt the strength of an Empyrean Boar was significantly inferior, ’You’re arrogant only because you’re at the 10-Life Stage.’
’When I reach that level in the future, you’ll be nothing but an ant before me.’ PemGabura snorted.
"Who’s next?" FyorBuntara didn’t care about PemGabura’s thoughts and instead eyed his squad, "Who among the Murky Boars want to take a shot now?"
"What’s this?" Came a voice from behind, as the Potential Squad turned around to see another squad, part of the vanguard, had descended into the biome. "You’re training?"
"Yes," FyorBuntara nodded at the leader of the vanguard squad.
"Are they faring well?" The squad leader asked and eyed the figure of VaraBuntara and PemGabura who were sullenly seated towards the end of the crowd.
"Not really," FyorBuntara shook his head, "Our side’s Prana consumption is insane when compared to the Garrinch Race."
"Well, it’s the same even for us," The squad leader smiled wryly and walked deeper into the biome, "Cut them some slack, alright?"
"I don’t plan to," Fyorbuntara responded and eyed his squad members once the vanguard squad headed deeper into the biome. "Now, coming back..."
GRAHHHH!
Suddenly, dreadful screams erupted from the depths of the biome. Upon hearing the voices, Fyorbunatra bellowed, "Training’s over!"
"Retreat!"
