Chapter 211: Punch, And Be Punched
Chapter 211: Punch, And Be Punched
Tangible Nature–Millinger!
VaraBuntara only cultivated one Tangible Nature, for a Millinger alone already overwhelmed him with its influence. He was still in the process of adapting to its influence and couldn’t afford to raise another Tangible Nature yet.
Primary Nature–Empyrean Spectral Boar Transformation!
Secondary Nature–Internal Tangible Cultivator!
Tertiary Nature–Spectral Shell!
He already had three Natures, in contrast to the Garrinch opponents who only had one Nature each. Both sides were Expert Gold Grade in terms of strength and hadn’t reached maturity either.
’With my current strength, it’ll be embarrassing if I were to lose.’ Thinking as such, VaraBuntara sauntered forward and eyed the five Garrinch before him. Right before their fight started, he caught a piece of Vara thrown by Fyorbuntara.
Upon accessing it, he obtained the language used by Garrinch, ’Perfect!’
"Thank you, Squad Captain." He threw the Vara back to FyorBuntara, turned around to face the Garrinch, and shouted in their language, "Fight me, you bastards!"
"I’ll gobble you up, Human!" A Garrinch cursed.
"I’ll call you Garrinch One...Garrinch Two... and so on..." VaraBuntara said as he pointed his index finger at each of the Garrinch, numbering them from one to five.
"I have a name!" Garrinch One roared, "And it’s..."
"I don’t care!" VaraBuntara commented as spikes jutted out of his arms, neck, and back. He had begun preparation to launch an artillery strike. The Garrinch responded promptly in response, taking up spots around him as they attacked him one after another.
Boom!
A Garrinch tried to chomp VaraBuntara’s head but had to hurriedly duck as a spike grew out quickly and aimed for its head. As it ducked, its tail shot forward and slammed into Varabuntara, hitting against the spikes growing on his back.
VaraBuntara swiftly swerved his body to use the spikes to defend against the attacks, suffering multiple hits from the Garrinch. He aimed a punch at a Garrinch that had targeted him, only to see it leap back in response, as another Garrinch from behind struck him next.
When he reacted to the Garrinch that attacked from behind, two Garrinch struck diagonally, causing him to break out in fluster.
In the five seconds he took to prepare an artillery strike, he had already lost an arm. Aiming with the other arm, he bombarded the vicinity with a hail of spikes.
Millinger Tangible Nature–Bone-Melting Artillery!
The Garrinch relied on their reflexives to dance around the place, retreating behind rock pillars as the spikes destroyed many pillars and dealt significant damage to the place.
"I got hit!" Garrinch Three commented in shock as it watched its thigh bone turn soft like jelly. Upon seeing a corrosive substance rapidly invade its bloodstream, it severed its affected leg without hesitation and leapt towards VaraBuntara.
Its tail clutched the rear of a spike that had lodged itself into the ground and flung it at VaraBuntara, causing him to howl in pain.
"It’s effective!" At its shout, the rest of the Garrinch quickly used their tails to hurl the spikes at VaraBuntara one after another.
Boom!
FyorBuntara had to intervene, sporting a disappointed face as he swatted away the flung spikes. He grabbed a wounded VaraBuntara and retreated, commenting after he told the Garrinch to recover their Prana reserves, "What the heck was that?"
"Why did you use Bone-Melting Artillery so early into the battle?"
"I...wanted to kill them in one swing." VaraBuntara expressed sullenly as he severed three limbs which were melting and also carved out a portion of his ribs that had been affected. FyorBunatra helped with the extraction, minimising the damage Varabuntara had to endure.
"Even Millingers never open with an artillery strike," Fyorbuntara chided, "You should first rely on your physique to understand through experience their strength, fitness, and judge the effectiveness of an artillery strike."
"And then, you should, while fighting, gather them at spots where your spikes would launch with the highest concentration." He continued in irritation, "Moreover, even Millingers take a few minutes before they judge an artillery strike can be used. This is from a creature born to wield that power."
"Moreover, they will concentrate all the spikes at the target spots. Whereas," FyorBuntara pointed at the spikes that had stabbed all around the place, "You displayed zero skill and have basically changed their terrain to be your enemy."
"Sit at the back and reflect on your mistakes." He expressed his anger, "At least you didn’t use an Inhibition Dome. I would have beaten you up had you done that."
The Garrinch cannot use a Spirit Weapon, since that was only possible through their Secondary Nature, which the batch of five didn’t possess. The strings funneling Prana to their hearts was a body part, and the Prana flow was within these strings.
Since there were no streams of psychokinesis moving externally, using Inhibition Dome would have done nothing.
"Dammit," VaraBuntara scowled in irritation, feeling insulted to have received a public scolding before his peers when he had boasted about his strength before. He didn’t complain, however, as FyorBuntara had one of the highest status in Binkn City, constantly moving about with the Wean Chief, KalTara.
"Who will go next?" FyorBuntara asked and observed many hands go up in response, "Good! It’s fine even if you make mistakes. I’m here to ensure you don’t pay with your lives for your mistakes."
"You need to experience a proper fight to grow." He then pointed at one of the squad members, "Since someone from the Spectral Boar Branch went first, we’ll go in that order."
"Thank you," He was a fat youth who looked significantly older than his age. He was named PemGabura, and hailed from the Heavy Boar Branch of the Wean Clan.
He walked towards the five Garrinch and stood twenty metres before them. Upon learning their language, he raised his hand and beckoned for them to attack him, "Try to make me budge from this spot."
Intermediate Gold Grade Pranic Beast–Heavy Boar!
With a Prana capacity of 5144 upon maturity and a lifespan of 1080 years, the Heavy Boar race was the descendant of the Celestial Boar that closely mimicked the Empyrean Tusks, especially in terms of size.
They had a simple, but overpowered power that basically catered to their Race’s characteristic–of excessive consumption.
Primary Nature–Voracious Growth!
The more a Heavy Boar eats, the more it grows in size. It can faintly gain the characteristics of the Pranic Beasts it consumes, which allow it to progressively enhance its size. If a Heavy Boar manages to eat enough of an Empyrean Tusk’s flesh, it could enter the size of a kilometre easily.
A Heavy Boar’s size depends entirely on the type and quantity of flesh it has consumed, and the harmonisation of the physical characteristics it has gained from all its consumption. If it were smart, a Heavy Boar could become an absolute powerhouse.
If it were stupid, the disorderly physical characteristics it has accumulated would mess with each other and turn it into an eldritch bundle of voracious monstrosity that had long since plunged into madness.
PemGabura, as he walked towards the Garrinch, had already prepared enough Prana to activate his transformation, since his fighting style was extremely simple.
Punch and be punched while feasting upon the opponent’s flesh.
