Chapter 209: Ou-Par-Guja
Chapter 209: Ou-Par-Guja
The Wean Clansmen constantly had to fight against Free Humans of the Varahan Enclave, constantly having to prepare countermeasures against a variety of Natures.
Having been broiled in life and death situations all the time, figuring out a counter came as a second nature to them. Those that failed to do so were just killed off by the Varahan Empires Free Humans.
It was survival of the fittest.
Hence, in a mere two minutes, the Wean Clansmen figured out the fighting mechanics of the Garrinch Race, understood the Prana supply capacity of the strings, its structural integrity, and the robustness of the Garrinch flesh.
With that, they quickly changed the Natures in their arsenal. First was avoiding the usage of their Empyrean Boar Transformation. Since the biome filled with all manner of pillars created footholds for the Garrinch to clutch onto and rapidly change their directions.
Empyrean Boars, on the other hand, weren’t good with rapid turning. Hence, it was futile to use this form.
They kept Shredded Lunge, as its evasion speed allowed them to easily keep up with the movements of the Garrinch race. And then, by employing Eddy Blades, they swiftly severed the threats part of Cardiac Admission.
As a Wean Clansman cut through four strings, five others promptly used Shredded Lunge to appear around a Garrinch and used Eddy Blade to hack into its body. The attacks continued for thirty seconds, by the end of which a pile of Garrinch limbs appeared next to its corpse.
It hadn’t run out of Prana yet. But the sheer level of damage that had stacked upon its neck basically caused its head to fall off. While five Wean Clansmen focused on one Garrinch, the rest prevented the surrounding Garrinch from saving their cut-off brethren.
Roar!
As the Wean Clansmen continued to smoothly kill the Garrinch, a shockwave blasted into them all, rattling their internal organs to the extent, their blood flow got hindered. Unanimously, they all felt it for a tenth of a second.
A heart attack!
"Damn!" Wean Clansmen clutched his aching chest and eyed deeper into the biome from where the roar arrived. Soon, scuttling sounds resounded as the Garrinch rushed out in large numbers, possessing presence significantly stronger than the ones they were currently facing.
Immediately upon realisation, the Wean Clansman shouted, "We’ve been fighting against kids all along."
As a Developed Continent, Nusantara’s natives had long developed their means of strength progression. As a Race treated as vanguard of their defensive strength, the Garrinch Race had developed themselves across hundreds of thousands of years until they reached a point where upon reaching maturity, they attained a Secondary Nature.
Secondary Nature–Heart Convergence!
It was their Mind Path Nature, allowing a Garrinch to gather the sound generated by the heart beats of itself, and its brethren connected by the Cardiac Admission, gather it to the throat as a lump of Prana, and blast it in the form of a beam upon the target.
Prana consumption here was merely to facilitate as a means of transport for the shockwaves, to deliver it in a concentrated form across a distance.
The scariest part of Heart Convergence is the fact that these shockwaves could be transferred across the entirety of the network formed by Cardiac Admission, allowing a Garrinch from anywhere to unleash it upon the enemy.
The power of thousands could be wielded by one, which served as the Garrinch Race’s motto. Hence, their Prana consumption was one of the lowest, barely consuming around fifty units of Prana to unleash one attack.
The larger the scope of accumulation, the greater the Prana consumption. But even an attack generated by a consumption of fifty units of Prana was threatening enough.
Boom!
The shockwaves slammed into a Wean Clansmen and exploded his heart primarily. And then, the sockwaves spread rapidly to pop his body like a balloon.
"That’s familiar," The Wean Clansman who died to the attack appeared a couple dozen metres away, with one life lesser, calmly making note of the attack’s intensity, "It seems fancy, but in the end, they are packing shockwaves and using it to hit a target from afar by relying on sound’s capability to travel through a medium."
"That’s how their attacks travel beyond their Spirit Weapon range," He continued his analysis, as another attack splattered his body, "It travels at the speed of sound. And when it approached me, the bubble I sensed using my Prana detection means kept growing in size."
"Even if I manage to react on time, the distance of evasion is too great, so I’m bound to be hit. A defensive counter is a necessity." He then retreated upon saying his piece.
"We have deals with the Quip Clan who rely on sound-based attacks the most." The Wean Clansmen grinned as they saw the approach of Garrinch bearing Secondary Natures. "Dealing with such a simple attack is child’s play."
Nature–Prana Shock!
It was compressed into a needle and fired in the direction of another Heart Convergence attack. Following the needle was a piece of bone, infused with enough Prana to rapidly regenerate into the skeletal frame of an Empyrean Boar.
The Prana Shock in needle form popped the bubble of Prana carrying the shockwaves, dispersing it radially due to its own force. This force was then captured by the Empyrean Boar skeleton that was growing in size.
The shockwaves coursed through the skeleton and shattered it. But before it was fully destroyed, a couple of its ribs stabbed into the ground, creating a pathway for the shockwaves to course into the ground.
"Yup, it works." The Wean Clansman grinned casually as the ground tremored a little. He noticed one of the pillars trembling a bit more than the rest and grinned savagely, "Everyone! This place can collapse if we keep sending shockwaves into the ground."
"Let’s destroy this place, shall we?"
"I love fighting without worrying about collateral damage!" Many Wean Clansmen grew excited in response.
Deeper into the Citrakah Enclave, seated on the ground right behind the Iron Wall was a Garrinch, appearing significantly older than everyone else. Currently aged 1405 years, it was on its last leg.
However, its power was in a league of its own, above the rest of its brethren. Even though it merely sat on the ground, the terrain in contact with its body morphed into a form catering to its every whim.
Ou-Par-Guja!
That was its name, as it served as the leader of the Garrinch Race. Currently, all of its attention was upon the ginormous figure of the Empyrean Tusk casually poising 80 kilometres away, when suddenly, an injured Garrinch rushed towards Ou-Par-Guja, "LEADER!"
"What’s the issue?" Ou-Par-Guja asked as if it had expected, "Are our losses more severe than our prediction?"
"Yes," The Garrinch nodded in frustration.
"Well, the enemy must have lost more, seeing as they are all at Beginner Gold Grade." Ou-Par-Guja commented relaxedly.
"Zero," The Garrinch expressed in horror, "The enemies have sustained zero casualties."
"How..." Ou-Par-Guja wanted to express the impossibility of the situation, and then realised what was happening, "Life Stage, huh?"
"It truly gives you wings." And then, it got up, "Let’s go."
"I’ll personally kill them all."
